Project Description
The work includes construction at the East Sideline renovation as follows:

a. Removal of existing concession walls, ceilings, slab-on-grade, casework, countertops and all associated electrical, mechanical and plumbing.
b. Provide interior construction that includes all walls consiting of metal stud framing, drywall, CMU, and brick. Interior finishes which are comprised of wall finishes, flooring, doors, frames, finish hardware, counter doors, vinyl-faced tile and drywall ceilings.
c. Provide plumbing system including water supply piping, drain waste and vent piping, plumbing fixtures and modification of existing systems as required for new work.
d. Provide a secondary electrical power system from existing service to the new devices. e. Provide food service equipment for the East Sideline.

This project includes a project labor agreement that will be executed between the lowest responsive/ responsible bidder and the East Central Building & Construction Trades Council. A copy of the project labor agreement is included in the project bid documents, General Project Requirements.

Bid Document Sources
Bid documents have been prepared by HNTB Architecture, 715 Kirk Drive, Kansas City, MO 64105, 816-472-1201, the professional services consultant. The bid documents may be obtained from the Construction Manager, (Hunt Construction Group, Inc., 1420 S. First St., Champaign, IL 61820, (217) 265-4492) by depositing a check in the amount of $150 for each set, payable to the Construction Manager, OR non-cash plan deposit programs which are guaranteed by contractor associations are acceptable.

Each bidder shall prequalify with the owner in accordance with the General Instructions to Bidders (Document 00200).

All bidders shall be prequalified with the owner. New bidders that are not prequalified shall prequalify using the Owner's web-based Contractor Annual Prequalification System (CAPS)-

The project will be administered using the owner's web-based project management system. PRZM was developed to maximize the potential of the Internet in allowing project team members to access and exchange project information. PRZM supports team collaboration in management and interaction, as well as team member empowerment on a multi-layer security system.
Minimum PRZM user requirements are as follows:
  • Personal Computer: Microprocessor speed of 100mhz or higher, 32Mb RAM, and a monitor capable of at least 800 x 600 pixel resolution.
  • Internet Browser: Microsoft Internet Explorer version 4.0 or higher is recommended.
  • E-mail: PRZM requires the user to have a valid e-mail account.
  • Software: At various stages of PRZM, users will be required to attach their documents to PRZM.
  • Computer-Aided Drawing (CAD) viewer
Pre-Bid Meeting
A pre-bid meeting will be held in Hunt Construction job site trailer, 1420 S. First Street, Champaign, IL 61820 at 2:00 p.m. prevailing time on February 5, 2008. Representatives of the owner and the professional services consultant will be present to answer questions regarding the project and bidding procedures. All prospective bidders are urged to attend.

Bid Opening
Immediately after the closing time for receiving bids, all proposals will be publicly opened, read, and tabulated at Conference room 128, Physical Plant Service Building, 1501 S. Oak St., Champaign, IL 61820. Noted errors, omissions and defects will be announced. Bids received after closing time will be returned unopened. The public opening and reading is for information only and is not construed as acceptance or rejection of any bid.

Bid Acceptance or Rejection
The owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids or any part thereof, to waive any informalities in the bidding, and to accept the bids deemed to be in the best interests of the owner after all bids have been examined and evaluated.

Statutory Requirements
The successful bidder will be required to comply with all laws, statutes, regulations, ordinances, rulings or enactments of any governmental authority that are applicable to the work or to the project. The successful bidder shall pay prevailing wages and shall utilize equal employment opportunity hiring practices in connection with this project.
