This is an estimated amount for a FIELD DIRECTIVE to address critical work required on the metal fascia which is a weather sensitive item to prevent water penetration into the knee wall of the roof and into the building. The extent of the deterioration of the metal fascia was discovered upon removal of the existing paint. The final amount will be confirmed upon the posting of the actual change order.

The University award process may be delayed up to thirty days as this award goes through a state approval process.

Project Description
Smith Memorial Hall of Music is located at the southeast corner of the main quadrangle on the campus of University of Illinois. The building houses lecture, musical performance, practice and lecture rooms. It is a three story building with a full basement, solid masonry with a concrete structure. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The work consists of the renovation of specific building areas and includes, but is not limited to the following: Exterior improvements include roof replacement; masonry and stone restoration; window replacement; metal restoration and repairs to a site retaining wall. Interior improvements include decorative plaster and paint restoration of the Memorial Room; renovation and acoustic enhancements to the third floor music practice rooms; replacement of third floor HVAC; renovation of third floor toilet rooms and the associated electrical work.
