Project Description
The Arthur Newell Talbot Building (Building #0013) was completed in 1929 and is eligible for listing on the National Historic Register. The existing four story building consists of departmental classrooms/lecture halls, faculty and administrative offices, and laboratories. Talbot laboratory is a non-sprinkler building. This project consists of a three story addition of approximately 9,200 GSF and 2,900 GSF of renovation space. The addition is located at the southeast corner of the existing building, adjacent to the existing loading dock. Work will include selective demolition, hazardous material remediation, interior renovation, mechanical/electrical/plumbing/fire protection work, and installation of audio visual infrastructure. The project is comprised of laboratory spaces, faculty offices, conference rooms, and demonstration rooms. The project scope includes minor renovation to the existing building to allow for adequate circulation from existing to new. The project is aiming for a LEED Silver Certification.

A MANDATORY pre-bid meeting will be held in Physical Plant Services Building, 1501 South Oak Street, Room 128, Champaign, IL 61820 on 08/21/18 at 10:30 AM prevailing time. Representatives of the Owner and the Professional Services Consultant will be present to answer questions regarding the project and bidding procedures. All prospective bidders are REQUIRED to attend.
