Project Description
The project is a new one-story, 5,618 SF building incorporating a research home and research laboratories including observational areas as well as limited classroom facilities. The new building will be constructed on a now-empty 40,000 SF site that will be completed with a 30-car parking lot and landscaping. The new building will be energy efficient but does not require LEED certification.

The project includes fully developing the site including off-street parking, site drainage including storm water detention, roadway improvements, walks, site lighting, landscaping including hardscape and softscape, and utility work required to support the project. The research home will be a typical two bedroom, 1 bath, 2,000 SF (+/-) home with attached observation spaces and laboratory space conducting research. In addition, office space, classroom space, FF&E and AV equipment will be provided.

A MANDATORY pre-bid meeting will be held in Room 128, Facilities & Services, Physical Plant Service Building, 1501 South Oak Street, Champaign, Illinois 61820 on 12/20/18 at 10:00 AM prevailing time. Representatives of the Owner and the Professional Services Consultant will be present to answer questions regarding the project and bidding procedures. All prospective bidders are REQUIRED to attend.
