Project Description
The general scope of this project is to renovate certain areas of the Illini Union in order to accommodate temporary dining services during demolition and reconstruction of the dining hall and kitchen complex at the Illinois Street Residence (ISR) Halls. Construction work on this project is scheduled to begin following the end of the Spring 2018 semester. The Ballroom (0200), the Colonial Room (0103) and Room 104 will be used as dining rooms, supported by kitchen facilities on the lower level, first floor and second floor. The project includes general and MEP work in all those areas to prepare them for use by Dining Services beginning in August 2018. The general work includes but is not limited to wall construction, ceiling replacement, finishes and demolition and reconstruction of the loading dock. The MEP work includes ventilation revisions, lighting replacement, plumbing revisions and BAS revisions along with utility extensions for connections to kitchen equipment being provided by Dining Services. MEP work will also include installation of infrastructure to be used by Technology Services to support the dining operation.
