Project Description
This project will demolish tower 7 and install a new similar capacity cooling tower. Tower 7 is a 4-cell evaporative tower that utilizes an indoor sump tank, which is exposed to atmosphere and located within the envelope of the plant. There are not basin heaters for the tower. Associated chillers 3 & 7 are 850 tons each and utilize refrigerant R-134A. The associated condenser water pumps are adequately sized and will remain.

The replacement of the tower shall also include new structural framing, associated interior & exterior piping, electrical, utility automation controls/distributed control system work, and roof patching. Utilities will perform the programming of the Delta V distributed control system instead of a contractor hiring a programmer.

This Project is located at: 1009 St. Mary's Road, Urbana, IL 61802.
