Project Description
The project shall include upgrades to both elevators, E-1 (north) and E-2 (south), including new cab finishes, doors, controls, etc. Elevators will be completed in sequence, to allow for a fully functioning elevator at all times. In addition to the elevator modernization, renovation of the existing women's restrooms and a new ADA compliant single occupant restroom located on the first floor, will be completed. With the renovation of the women's restrooms, priority will be given to the first and second floors, followed by the ground and third floors. Work will be phased to minimize the inconvenience to the occupants. Restroom renovations will include rework of plumbing risers, all new plumbing fixtures and accessories, new ceramic wall tile, and cleaning and repairing the existing terrazzo floor and base. New LED lighting and the upgrading of mechanical systems to be provided. A new janitor's sink will also be provided on each floor.

The North Elevator (E-1) upgrades will need to be completed during Summer 2020, as the access to the elevator machine room is through an auditorium. All shop drawings and submittals shall be completed at the same time as the South elevator (E-2) to accommodate required lead times and delivery of all components for the upgrades for the north elevator. The construction duration for the North Elevator (E-1) upgrades shall be limited to Summer 2020, beginning May 18, 2020 and ending August 20, 2020 (the "Substantial Completion Date"), when the auditorium can be placed off line.

This Project is located at: 1310 South 6th Street, Champaign, IL 61820
