A: Clarifications:
1.Elevator Machine Room and Elevator Hoistway walls and ceilings are 2hr fire rated construction. Unless noted otherwise, all existing empty penetrations in walls or ceilings of machine room and hoistway shall be sealed by General Contractor. All new and existing piping, conduit or duct penetrations shall be sealed by Contractor with associated division of work. All penetrations shall be sealed to meet wall/ceiling rated construction.

2.Work associated with keynote 7 (added by Addendum No.2) for CMU wall infill noted on sheets A110 & A111 shall be by General Contractor.

Project Description
The project work includes upgrades to the building's north and south elevators to meet current codes and design standards. One elevator shall remain functioning at all times requiring a phased construction to occur during 2021 summer break and 2022 summer break. The work is similar for both north and south elevators and includes MEP upgrades to elevator machine room, pit ladder, lighting, sump pump, rail slipper guides changed to roller guides, cab and cab doors and operating components, cab controls, call buttons, car position indicators and miscellaneous items including fire protection and suppression and all non-compliant code related items. Elevator 2 shall receive ADA push pad controls. The elevator cylinders for each elevator were replaced as part of a previous project and will not be included in the scope of work of this project.

A MANDATORY pre-bid meeting will be held through Phone: (312) 626 6799, Meeting ID: 985 2704 5761, Password: 1867 at 10:00am on 10/22/2020. Onsite inspection will be held in the main lobby of Krannert Center for the Performing Arts (Building #52) 500 S. Goodwin Ave., Urbana, IL 61801 on 10/22/20 at 12:00pm prevailing time. Representatives of the Owner and the Professional Services Consultant will be present to answer questions regarding the project and bidding procedures. All prospective bidders are REQUIRED to attend.
