Invitation for Construction Bid: DIA - Baseball and Softball Training Centers
BAU19046 DIA-Baseball and Softball project will not be awarded, due to the fact that the lowest responsive and responsible contractor bids received for the five divisions of work far exceeded the PSC's final estimate, and the project's funds available for construction (including the bidding contingency).
Currently the project is on hold with DIA and the design team engaged in some preliminary efforts to find sufficient available savings to again bid two facilities or to determine if only a single facility will be repackaged and rebid.
Addendum 5 has been added which addresses the following:
Item 1
Bids for Divisions 02, 03 ,04 & 05 are due by 2:30 p.m. prevailing time on 8/17/20 and will be publicly opened and read aloud at 3:00 p.m. prevailing time on the same day.
Item 2
Bids for Division 01 are due by 2:30 p.m. prevailing time on 8/18/20 and will be publicly opened and read aloud at 3:00 p.m. prevailing time on the same day.

Bid deadlines and bid openings have been extended as follows:
Divisions 02, 03, 04, 05: Bid deadline is Friday August 14, 2020 at 10:30 am, with bid opening following at 11:00 am the same day.
Division 01: Bid deadline is Monday August 17, 2020 at 2:30 pm, with bid opening following at 3:00 pm the same day.

cbieser@rr-arch.com. Clarifications that affect the scope of the work or bidding
requirements will be answered by addendum. Only items captured in addenda modify bid
documents; all other statements or responses are non-binding.

Representatives of the Owner and the Professional Services Consultant will be present to answer questions regarding the project and bidding procedures.

Project Description
The project consists of the construction of two separate building additions, housing indoor baseball and softball training facilities located adjacent to the existing Illinois Field baseball locker room clubhouse and Eichelberger Field softball locker room clubhouse respectively. Both additions will contain space and volume for a complete collegiate sized infield with turf surfaces matching the outdoor fields' surfaces. Additional features include extensions of the existing player lounge, new pitching and batting areas with retractable netting, entry lobby space to
display graphics and multimedia displays, restrooms, storage space, and site amenities including landscaping and paved parking and drop-off areas. Alternate bids are described in Section 01 2300.
