Project Description
The University of Illinois at Chicago is seeking a Professional Services Consultant for a comprehensive repair and restoration of the exterior facade of University Hall. The purpose of the project is to repair areas of damage, stabilize the building exterior to mitigate against future deterioration, and to restore the exterior appearance of the building. The scope of the work should include, but may not be limited to, inspection of the building facade to determine the condition of the concrete structure, precast window panels, window glazing and seals; and to develop options for repair and restoration. The scope of the work may also include conceptualization for the design and construction of a new permanent exterior canopy at the base of the building. The conceptualization phase will establish the scope of the facade renovation work and will establish a budget for this work. After a successful conceptualization phase, and following the University of Illinois Board of Trustees’ approval, the PSC may be authorized to proceed with the ensuing phase(s) of design development documents, bid documents, bid/award, construction administration, and warranty.
