This Addendum provides information regarding a previously completed Programming Study - Space Plan Document for UIC Taft Hall and does not alter the previously published Qualifications Submittal due date.

Project Description
The University of Illinois Chicago is seeking a Professional Services Consultant (PSC) to lead the design of the renovation of approximately 27,000 GSF of space on the first, second and third floors of Taft Hall for formal learning spaces with integrated multimedia, informal learning spaces/lounges, restrooms, and accommodations for a possible campus tenant suite on the first floor. Additionally, for accessible access to the third floor of Taft, the existing second floor walkway that connects to Burnham Hall will be reclad and expanded to provide an enclosed walkway on the third floor.
The project will include a comprehensive remodeling of all building components and systems including, but not limited to, architectural, HVAC, electrical, AV and IT related infrastructure, plumbing, and life safety. Achieving net-zero energy and water consumption through evaluation of geothermal and solar PV, among other renewable technologies, will be investigated. This project will also seek to completely remove and replace the exterior wall cladding systems. This project will achieve a minimum of LEED Gold Certification.
In general, the goals for this project are to provide a facility that: a. Provides an energizing and more welcoming environment both within and outside the classrooms b. Provides the University with learning spaces that support active learning, are flexible for hybrid learning, functional, and attractive c. Provides informal learning spaces for students outside the classrooms to engage instructors and peers, and study and relax between classes d. Meets the functional and University design requirements of the programmed elements including acoustics, light levels, and integrated AV equipment e. Complies with current code requirements regarding restroom capacity, fixture counts, etc. f. Is economically feasible for the Universitys energy efficiency and sustainability goals based on the Leadership in Environmental and Energy Design (LEED) rating system g. Is accessible and usable by people of all mobilities h. Meets all applicable codes and requirements, including University design standards.
