The project consists of converting natural turf to synthetic surface on one (1) existing soccer field for intercollegiate and intramural sports located on UICâs South Campus at 1225 South Morgan Street, Chicago. New synthetic turf installation (slightly relocated from existing location to avoid existing utilities) to include removal of existing turf/soil, design new synthetic turf system including new field drainage system (to meet the requirements of the City of Chicago, Storm Water Management Ordinance) and evaluate and design storm water runoff.
Other considerations are:
â¢Maximize the synthetic turf area to minimize maintenance and avoid existing utilities.
â¢Use high quality turf product with long service life.
â¢Maximize use of existing bleachers and press box.
â¢Adjust existing walkway and fencing to accommodate the relocation of the field.
â¢Existing lighting to remain.
