Description of Project
This project will consist of architectural services to develop a feasibility study for the major renovation of floors 2-8, including the updating of the 9th floor laundry room, in the Student Resident Hall (SRH). The renovation of floors 4-8 will reconfigure the existing student spaces into bedroom/bathroom suites and create floor lounges. Half of the 2nd floor will remain in its current condition with renovation of the other half, for social and learning-related spaces. The renovation of the 3rd floor will revitalize this floor although maintain similar functions as currently used; two staff apartments, administrative offices, computer lounge and large student lounge. The project will also replace the fire alarm system and install a fire suppression system (sprinklers) throughout the building.
The initial commission will be limited to the preparation of the feasibility study. Upon approval of the Project by the Board of Trustees, the retained architect would be considered for completion of the balance of the project.
