Project Description
Professional Services Consultant (PSC) to provide Architectural and Engineering services for the Biological Research Laboratory (BRL) located at 1840 West Taylor Street, Chicago, Illinois. The PSC will provide full design services through completion of Contract Documents. The Professional Services Agreement may be amended to include Bidding, Construction Administration, On-site Observation and Warranty phase services contingent upon campus/grant funding. The objective of the proposed project is to upgrade the existing Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing infrastructure serving the BRL, to correct deficiencies that are present, and to meet energy performance requirements. The scope of the work may include, but is not limited to, addressing roof leaks, demolition, removal and replacement of all existing HVAC units, exhaust fans, ducts, piping, and chilled water pumps, removal and reinstallation of walls, louvers, etc. for equipment lifts and surface and finish restoration of areas disturbed by the work, new domestic water system, new PRV system, replacement of all re-heat coils, installation of new pressure independent air valves, humidification, installation of new Tridium Niagara 4 DDC/BAS system, retrofitting switch gear and replacement of branch feeds and MCC, and new light fixtures in selected areas. The Project will be executed while the balance of the facility remains fully functional 24/7.
