Description of Project
This project will consist of architectural services to develop a feasibility study to construct 2 floors on top of the existing Lions of Illinois Eye Research Institute Building. A structural and code analysis is required. Each floor would be approximately 14,500 GSF for a total of 29,000 GSF additional research space. Renovation of current space is included in the scope of work. Experience in NIH grant documentation/submission is also required.

The initial commission will be limited to the preparation of the feasibility study. Upon approval of the Project by the Board of Trustees, the retained architect would be considered for completion of the balance of the project.

Firms should submit four copies of the following: a letter of interest, a copy of its CDB pre-qualification letter, and a 255 form (use CDB SF 255 latest version) by 4:00 PM, Friday, September 17 2004 addressed to:

Architect/Engineer selection will be consistent with the Architectural, Engineering, and Land Surveying Qualifications Based Selection Act (30 ILCS 535/1).

Minimum Qualifications
Only those firms which meet the following qualifications will be considered for selection:

  • Licensed to practice as an architect/engineer in the State of Illinois.
  • Prequalified with the State of Illinois Capital Development Board
  • Registered and authorized to do business in the State of Illinois
  • Utilization of AutoCAD compatible system
