Project Description
The faade, roof and windows of the School of Public Health and Psychiatric Institute (SPHPI - UIC
Building 975) have been identified as needing repairs and replacement in several building assessment
reports. The windows are original to the building and allow significant water leaks and air infiltration, the
roof areas are original to the building causing significant leaks, and the faade of the building is in need of general repair and tuckpointing. The purpose of this project is to implement as many of these improvements as can fit within the project budget. The Conceptualization Phase will determine the final scope of work and will confirm the construction budget for the project. After a successful Conceptualization Phase, and following the University of Illinois Board of Trustees approval, the Professional Services Consultant may be authorized to proceed with ensuing phase(s) of Design Development documents, Bid documents, Bid/Award, Construction Administration, and Warranty.
Project Location: School of Public Health and Psychiatric Institute (SPHPI) - 1601 W. Taylor
