Project Description
The University of Illinois is seeking professional services for the design, bidding, and construction administration for several chilled water system conversions on campus. This project will convert the chilled water systems within four campus buildings currently served by the Library Chiller Plant System so they will operate on the Campus-Wide Central Chilled Water Loop. The buildings included in this project are Davenport Hall, Foellinger Auditorium, Main Library and Stacks and the Undergraduate Library. The program for this conversion will be delivered in separate project phases for each building through FY10. Construction work is to begin in October of 2009 and will be substantially complete by March 15, 2010. The program calls for modifications to air handling units and chilled water systems to convert buildings from a constant flow to variable flow system. Components of this program include re-piping for chilled water at building entrances, elimination of building circulation pumps, re-placement of chilled water control valves, addition of temperature control safety devices and upgrade of AHU and chilled water flow control to DDC systems.
