Project Description
The University of Illinois is seeking professional services consultants for the design, bid / award, and construction administration services for the Grainger Library and Talbot Laboratory Chilled Water Utility Connection Project. The Materials Testing Laboratory was dedicated in 1930, providing 81,400 square feet of space on the engineering campus. It was rededicated in April, 1938, in honor of Arthur Newell Talbot. By 1935 it housed a massive materials testing machine capable of exerting 3,000,000 pounds of pressure. Today, the building primarily houses the operations of the Aeronautical Engineering Department. The Grainger Engineering Library was constructed in 1994 located on Springfield Ave on the heart of the north Engineering Campus.
