Project Description
The University of Illinois is seeking professional services for design, bid management, and the construction administration for the Engineering Services Building (ESB) - Building #0174. This Exterior Repairs – Roofs and Windows project consists of replacing the lower roofs known as F, G, H, I, J, and M totaling approximately 15,650 S.F. with new modified bituminous asphalt and replacing all of the existing 189 aluminum windows in the four interconnected buildings with new energy efficient thermally broken aluminum frames and sashes with thermally sealed double pane insulated glazing with a soft Low-E film on face two and filled with 40% argon gas. At the same time approximately 4,000 S.F. of perimeter masonry and stucco coated spandrel parapets will be investigated to determine if failure has occurred so it can be appropriately repaired and re-pointed, including installing appropriate expansion joints as required.
