Project Description
University Housing is seeking a Professional Services Consultant to design (permit level), bid, and administer for life-safety and finish upgrades at both Hopkins and Weston Residence Halls. This work is to include installing sprinkler systems in accordance with the requirements of the Fire Sprinkler Dormitory Act (110 ILCS 471), additional strobe horns (approximately 24 per hall), and upgrading the existing fire alarm system as needed to support the new sprinkler system and fire alarm devices. Design of soffits for housing the sprinkler piping will be part of this project. Finish upgrades include installing new flooring in the corridors and lobbies of both residence halls (abate the VAT at Hopkins only), painting all student rooms and corridors.
