Project Description
The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is seeking a professional services consultant team for the conceptualization, design, bid/award, and construction and warranty phase services for the Digital Computer Laboratory (DCL) - Life Safety and HVAC Upgrades project. The Digital Computer Laboratory (0210) building is located at 1304 West Springfield, Urbana, Illinois. The Digital Computer Laboratory is not eligible for listing on the National Register of Historic Buildings.

As part of the ongoing attention to deferred maintenance, surveys have identified deficiencies with the portions of the building and its fire suppression and mechanical systems. This project shall include the following major components: (1) Installation of a new fire suppression (sprinkler) system on each floor of the 1957, 1962 and 1965 areas of the building. (2) Remove and upgrade existing HVAC systems, including the air handling units (AHU?s), perimeter fan coil units (FCU?s) and all viable associated appurtenances. This work will include each floor of the 1957, 1962 and 1965 areas of the building and as listed in the Project Scope within the project program statement. (3) Remove and upgrade existing ceiling finishes and lighting fixtures.
