an IDHS Gambling Initiative study
to
Caritas
for
an estimated $43,000.
Caritas will conduct a pilot study and needs assessment to determine the prevalence of problem gambling among adolescents in the Chicago metropolitan area. These services include, but are not limited to, the following: obtain the research tool and assure that appropriate permissions are secured; alter the research tool to fit the needs of this project; obtain approval for conducting interviews in each site; orient the staff at each adolescent facility to make them aware of the study and referring patients to the interviewers; hire and train interview staff to conduct intervews and enter data; build a database; and analyze and report results in a timely manner. Caritas is the sole source vendor by qualification in this area.
