Speakers Bureau for IDHS Gambling Initiative
to
Outreach Foundation
for
$80,000.
The Outreach Foundation is the only Speaker's Bureau and outreach organization that is run entirely by members of the recovering community. The Outreach Foundation consists of recovering individuals who wish to increase community awareness of the difficulties faced by problem and compulsive gamblers. This cannot be done within the boundaries of annonymity required by Gamblers Anonymous, so Outreach Foundation has formed a non-profit organization in which memebers who are willing to speak to community groups could have a vehicle to convey their recovery message.
The Outreach Foundation is the exclusive provider of this program.
The Outreach Program is one component of the Problem and Compulsive Gambling Services Initiative that UIS is under contract with IDHS to administer. UIS provides technical assistance, administration, and project management in connection with the state initiative.
