for vending food services.
These vending services are for the period July 1, 2001 through June 30, 2006 with the option to renew for two additional two-year renewal periods with an anticipated term of nine years total at the same terms and conditions based on satisfactory performance, continuing need and availability of funds.
The University of Illinois at Springfield will begin its Capitol Scholars Program in the Fall of 2001. This program will admit freshmen and sophomores to the campus for the first time in the history of UIS. In the fall of 2001, UIS will begin utilizing a meal plan that includes vending machines. The meal plan dollars will be deposited into an account and the students will utilize their identification card (I-card) to make purchases. It is the intention of UIS to make this program available to all other students, staff and faculty.
This proposal reflects that all or a substantial portion of the vending machines be equipped with readers to accept the I-card as a method of payment for product.
