for copier services (Request # AP2022).

This Request for Proposal is issued to determine the most efficient and economical system to provide digital convenience copiers to the UIS campus community. The option to enter into a purchase order with one vendor/firm for digital convenience copiers and related supplies will be evaluated based on this proposal. The vendor will utilize Diebold card readers for access and control. Approximately 36 copier locations on the main campus and one at the Peoria campus will utilize this program. It is not the intent of UIS to own any of these copiers at the end of the contract. A list of locations, estimated volumes, and accessory requirements will be provided to vendors for consideration in submitting proposals.

The University will hold a mandatory pre-proposal conference and site visit at UIS Business Services Building at 3:00 PM on May 11, 2001 in BSB-31. Representatives of the University will be present to answer any questions regarding the services requested or proposal procedures. Prospective proposers must respond to 217-206-6651 on or before Thursday, May 10, 2001 at 4:00 PM with firm name and number of attendees. A maximum of three representatives from each firm may attend. Proposals submitted by companies not in attendance at any mandatory conference will not be accepted.

During the site visit each proposer shall fully acquaint and familiarize itself with the conditions as they exist and the character of the operation to be carried out under the resulting contract. (Submitted by John Conner, State Purchasing Officer.)
