The University is publishing Amendment 2 to address a change in Appendix I, Section 1.2E. Since this amendment changes the specifications of the required system, the University is requiring that all proposals for this solicitation include a copy of the Amendment 2 signed by a representative of the firm. Furthermore, due to this change the University is extending the proposal due date to October 20, 2011 at 2:00 PM Local Time. Any questions regarding this amendment should be addressed to the additional information contact listed below.
The University hereby replaces the requirement listed in Appendix I, Section 1.6 and replaces it with the following:
1.6 System Demonstration: In order to determine that the proposed system meets the Universityâs needs, the University reserves the right to request a demonstration of the proposed system at the Beckman Institute (Urbana, Illinois) from the highest ranked vendor after technical and pricing evaluations have been completed. The University will allow this demonstration to be on-site/in-person or at the respondentâs request the University will allow for a virtual demonstration. If the demonstration will be conducted virtually the University will send samples for scanning to the respondent for this demonstration. Potential vendors must agree to this demonstration in order to be considered for contract award. In the event the highest-ranked vendor provides this demonstration and the proposed system does not meet the specifications provided in the Vendorâs proposal and/or the requirements in this request for proposal, the University may find the Vendorâs proposal ânot-responsiveâ and the University reserves the right to award to the next highest-ranked Vendor. During this demonstration Vendor will be required to:
* Give an overview of the systemâs operations
* Demonstrate the calibration process
* Complete up to four 3D scans of items provided by the University.
* Explain user maintenance tasks (if applicable)
* Demonstrate software functionality
Note: This requirement (1.6) will not be evaluated beyond the Vendorâs acceptance for this requirement.
