Announcement of a Sole Source Purchase
The University is cancelling this sole source procurement and will be publishing a competitive bid for this purchase in the near future. The competitive bid will be published to the Procurement Bulletin under the title "Purchase of an Ultrafast laser with femtosecond pulses & tunability".

The University intends to award a contract for Ultrafast laser w/femtosecond pulses & tunability to Coherent Incorporated, Wilsonville, OR, for $105,000.
This purchase is only economically available from a single source because the
laser is the only one that meets the following research requirements:
â¢ Upper laser wavelength of 1060 nm with power at least 200 mW at this wavelength.
â¢ Lower laser wavelength of 680 nm with power at least 600 mW at this wavelength.
â¢ At peak, the power should be at least 3.0 Watts.

A public hearing will be held at which interested parties may testify for or against
the sole source determination as described in this notice. The purpose of the hearing
is to receive information from the public in a reasonable manner. Formal rules of
evidence will not apply.
The hearing panel will produce minutes of the hearing and may record it in order
to aid in the production of the minutes. Interested parties wishing to comment
for or against the determination may do so in writing or in person. If you wish
to testify, prior registration is requested to ensure adequate time is allowed for all parties.
