The University awarded a contract for a VisualSonic Vevo2100 Imaging System to VisualSonics, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, for an estimated $479,325.
This purchase is only economically available from a single source because the
Vevo2100 is the only commercially available high-frequency real-time ultrasonic imaging system, capable of imaging small animals (frog, mouse, rate, rabbit, cat) to ultrasonic frequencies of 70 MHz. This is the only in vivo micro-imaging platform/modality that allows the researcher to derive anatomical, functional, physiological and molecular data at both high spatial resolution and high temporal resolution.
