The University awarded a contract for an Extreme Ultra-Violet (EUV) Source System.
The University is looking to procure an Extreme Ultra-Violet (EUV) source system with selectable peak photon energies between 20-60 eV optimized for driving with 1030 nm, standard high harmonic generation (HHG) hollow core fiber cartridges, gas controller and rough pump for differential pumping.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for performing sponsored research and other sponsored activities under grants and contracts funded by the sponsor or by sources other than State appropriations. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(8)) KM Labs holds a patent on EUV generation using a hollow-core fiber, one of the aspects of the system that allows for the high photon flux beam, pointing stability and a smaller footprint on the optical table. Based on that KM labs is the only vendor that provides this type of system.
