for development of a strategic plan for on-campus housing at the Urbana-Champaign campus (Request # G208).

The University seeks a consultant to provide a comprehensive review of all aspects of the Urbana-Champaign''s campus dining services and to develop a strategic plan for optimizing the dining service program. The University is interested in identifying the strengths, weaknesses and limitations related to the current products and services offered in dining services as well as in determining other opportunities and market potential.

The University will hold an optional pre-proposal conference and site visit at 200 Clark Hall, 1203 South Fourth Street, Champaign, Illinois, at 10:00 AM on December 21, 2000. Representatives of the University will be present to answer any questions regarding the services requested or proposal procedures. Prospective Proposers must respond to Mr. Tom Nation at (217) 333-3584 on or before December 20, 2000, with firm name and number of attendees. A maximum of three (3) representatives from each firm may attend. During the site visit each Proposer shall fully acquaint and familiarize itself with the conditions as they exist and the character of the operation to be carried out under the resulting Contract.

NOTE: Due to the time involved in conducting tours and a conference scheduled at the University during the Christmas break, this will be the only time that proposers may be able to tour the facilities.

The plan must address and recommend, as deemed appropriate, the administrative organization envisioned to support any recommendations to deliver the best possible dining programs and services to all constituents; particularly to on-campus residents, over an optimal period of time, as determined by industry standards and the consultant''s analysis of local market trends and changing customer preferences. (Submitted by Katharine Kral, State Purchasing Officer.)
