for Insurance Broker Services (Request # G308).

The University of Illinois, on behalf of the Illinois Public Higher Education Cooperative (Cooperative), is seeking the services of a licensed brokerage firm to serve as Broker of Record for the placement of the Cooperative's various insurance coverages. The Cooperative is an agent for preparing specifications, advertising, receiving, opening, tabulating, and evaluating competitive sealed bids on behalf of the Governing Boards of each member State University and consists of all nine state universities in Illinois.

The selected Broker of Record will be required to solicit quotes from insurers for the Cooperative's property insurance (including boiler & machinery). At this time, the Cooperative is NOT requesting quotes from any insurance carrier; this RFP is NOT an authorization to approach or contact the property insurance marketplace or the Cooperative's current insurance carrier. The purpose of this RFP is to select a Broker of record, not to obtain a market quote.

The Cooperative requires the Broker of Record to have an outstanding record in evaluating and developing a property insurance (including boiler & machinery) program for higher education institutions. Respondents will be required to provide information regarding their qualifications and references in providing this type of service. (Submitted by Katharine Kral, State Purchasing Officer.)
