The University wishes to lease graduate student housing located at developer/landlord-owned one-bedroom and efficiency apartments for a period of a ten-year master lease with five-year termination option. This property will be used for graduate student housing.
Through this Request for Information (RFI), UIUC is seeking a qualified real estate developer/landlord to develop or offer apartments to be used for graduate student housing. UIUC is seeking firms or individuals interested in a new private development that accommodates the needs of a portion of UIUC graduate students proximate to our engineering campus to especially attract engineering and technology graduate students.
The development goal would be for 250 one-bedroom/efficiency units for graduate students. The University will consider a mix of one bedroom and efficiency apartments, but the number of efficiencies should not exceed 10% of the total number of units. The campus estimates that 250 units provided privately and near the Engineering Campus could best serve the student population. These units would be targeted toward one- or two-person graduate student households.
A pre-submittal conference will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. in the Purchasing Division Conference Room, Suite 212 Tech Plaza, 616 E. Green Street, Champaign, IL 61820.
