Request for Professional Services Qualifications (QBS): Comprehensive Design Services

Western Illinois University is seeking comprehensive design services for the following project: Heating Plant electrical switch and mechanical modifications. Selected firm will be responsible for: 1. Replacing the existing opacity monitor which is nearly obsolete; 2. Adapt/rehabilitate/modify the existing coal boiler breeching system to interface with the new opacity monitor and comply with U. S. Environmental Protection Agency requirements; 3. Incorporate a new ATS (Automatic Transfer Switch) only, to replace current manual switching procedures; 4. Add pre-heat capabilities to the existing baghouse and insulation to the existing components to combat the sulfuric acid condensation due to temperature differential/infiltration issues that currently exist; and 5. Additional mechanical piping issues as/if monies allow. Total project is approximately $935,000.

Submittal of qualifications must include: 1. A copy of C.D.B. prequalification; 2. Standard Form 255; 3. Examples of projects of a similar nature, including project estimates and actual construction costs. Provide an owner contact person for each example; 4. Additional information you feel may be useful. Three copies of submittals should be sent to Michael Hott, Q.B.S. Committee, Western Illinois University, Physical Plant Bldg., One University Circle, Macomb, IL 61455.
