The University awarded a contract for The Summit League officiating fees.
This covers officiating fees and video exchange fees for WIU's athletic games (excluding football) for the 2018/2019 season.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for membership in professional, academic, research, or athletic organizations on behalf of a public institution of higher education, an employee of a public institution of higher education, or a student at a public institution of higher education. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(1)) WIU has been a member of The Summit League conference since 1962. The Summit League is responsible for arranging officials for all of the games of the universities that belong in their conference. This requirement is set by the conference agreement.
