Award is for the programming study at a cost of $190,000. If work proceeds to the design and construction phase the cost would be an additional $1,683,000.
The University award process may be delayed up to thirty days as this award goes through a state approval process.

Western Illinois University is seeking design services for the renovation of Corbin and Olson Residence Halls and the associated dining center. Services will be provided in two parts. The first will consist of conducting a programming study with WIU staff to define scope and related budget for the project. With successful completion of the study and available funding, WIU will negotiate a contract for design and construction administration services to complete selected renovation components outlined in the programming study.
In addition to your proposal, interested firms should submit: 1. A one page summary of why your firm should be considered for selection on this particular project. 2. CDB Standard Form 255. 3. Minimum of three relevant recent references 4. Examples of projects of a similar nature, including project estimates and actual construction costs. Provide an owner contact person for each example. 5. Additional information you feel may be useful.
The University will be conducting site tours on the following dates: February 19, 2009 10 - 11:30 am; February 20, 2009 1:00 - 3:00 pm; and February 23, 2009 1:00 - 3:00 pm. Please contact Sharon Hundley at 309-298-3320 to reserve a time.
Only those firms which meet the following qualifications will be considered:
- Submitted 3 copies of their qualifications.
- Licensed to practice as an architect, landscape architect, or engineer in the State of Illinois.
- Registered and authorized to do business in the State of Illinois.
Selection will be consistent with the Architectural, Engineering, and Land Surveying Qualifications Based Selection Act (30 ILCS 535/1).
This transaction is subject to the State Board of Elections registration and certification requirements of Public Act 095-0971.
