The University awarded a contract for a Real Property Lease at 347 E 95th St. Chicago IL.
Chicago State University is leasing a property adjacent to campus that will provide ready access to the University for prospective students and the local community, boost the recruitment efforts of the University, and serve as a welcome center for the immediate neighbors of the University. The property also provides sufficient space for housing University representatives, holding welcome and information functions, and accommodating the administrative functions to support those needs.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for specialized space available at only one location.(30 ILCS 500/40-5/30 ILCS 500/40-15(b)(4)) The leased property is adjacent to the campus and is therefore specialized space available at only one location.
