Announcement of an Exempt Purchase

University and the Illinois Institute of Technology are partnering to provide students the opportunity to participate in a program to advance their awareness and understanding of computational research projects and to gain experience in solving real-world problems as part of their education. The program consists of the Course, which is an elective course, and work on a Project as an individual or in teams supporting the work of Universitys Discovery Partners Institute (DPI) seed-grant funded science teams or other University initiatives.

This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for events or activities paid for exclusively by revenues generated by the event or activity, gifts, or donations for the event or activity, private grants, or any combination thereof. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(2)) Initial program is exempt from the Code pursuant to 30 ILCS 500/1-13(b)(2) due to gift funding for the program.
