The University awarded a contract for Zeiss OPMI Pentero 800 surgical microscope.
Zeiss OPMI Pentero 800 is a multidisciplinary surgical microscope that enables surgeons to navigate through delicate structures in deep channels, work through long hours, and address the needs to maximize operating room efficiency.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for medical supplies or medical services necessary for the delivery of care and treatment at medical, dental, or veterinary teaching facilities utilized by SIU or U of I (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b-5)) UI Health is already using this system and this purchase will maintain compatibility and ease of use among clinicians.
