The University awarded a contract for consulting services for state funded project.
The Institute for Healthcare Delivery Design at University of Illinois at Chicago has been invited by the Illinois Department of Veteran Affairs leadership to develop a qualitative and quantitative analysis of the delivery and economic impact of services provided to the veteran community by the state. Chartis will conduct an analysis using provided and publicly available data that describe IDVAs contributions as a veterans resource at various levels, as well as provide a needs-based forecast for the expected types and levels of services required by this population.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for performing sponsored research and other sponsored activities under grants and contracts funded by the sponsor or by sources other than State appropriations. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(8)) This will enable us to fulfill our contractual obligations to the State of Illinois and meet deliverables. This will allow us to be an entrepreneurial unit and support ourselves and additional collaborators across the university.
