The University awarded a contract for ongoing maintenance agreement.
Ongoing maintenance agreement for equipment in the UI Health room C323 and Specialty Care Building room 1025 pharmacies. The equipment includes wireless bar code scanners, service packagers, main carousel, service software, thermal printers, controlled substance dispenser, CSM workstations, and multiple other items.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for procurement expenditures for any ongoing software
license or maintenance agreement or competitively
solicited software purchase, when the software, license,
or maintenance agreement is available through only the
software creator or its manufacturer and not a reseller ( 30 ILCS 500/1-13 (b)(10)) Omnicell provides quality service in a timely matter. If not utilized, the equipment will risk not being up to date in operations. This will cause issues down the line which will heavily impact the quality of service to patience. With lower quality, the hospital will lose patients to other hospitals which will impact the revenue.
