The University awarded a contract for ChemMatCARS upgrade components.
These upgrade components consist of motion controllers and a High-precision Roadrunner crystallography goniometer for conventional and serial crystallography experiments.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for performing sponsored research and other sponsored activities under grants and contracts funded by the sponsor or by sources other than State appropriations. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(8)) This procurement provides specialized, upgrade components that are required to fulfill the scientific needs described in the National Science Foundation grant #1836674 awarded to Mark Schlossman of the UIC Department of Physics.
