The University awarded a contract for IsoSpark Single Cell Proteomics Platform.
The IsoSpark Single Cell Proteomics Platform is a versatile, precision automation platform designed to understand and characterize differences among immune cells, mapping thousands of cells per sample to reveal complete functional profiles and polyfunctionality among cell subsets.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for performing sponsored research and other sponsored activities under grants and contracts funded by the sponsor or by sources other than State appropriations. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(8)) IsoSpark is the only instrument on the market that measures 30 highly multiplexed functional secreted proteins from each single cell for up to 1000 cells per individual chip. Besides, it is the only instrument that incubates cells in physiological conditions (37C, 5% CO2) to capture secreted proteins in native cellular state. The IsoSpark proteomics hub paired with IsoSpeak analysis software is the only single-cell proteomics system that provides a fully automated end-to-end workflow from chip loading to analyzed data with publication-ready figures. In addition, the IsoSpark proteomics hub is the only system that currently offers flexibility to assay highly multiplexed single-cell secretome, single-cell intracellular phosphoproteome, and bulk proteomics in one instrument with no hardware or software changes. The instrument will be used to research and study multiplexing responses, particularly in the field of cancer.
