The University awarded a contract for sequencing reagents.
Sequencing reagents to be used with next-generation sequencing instrumentation.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for performing sponsored research and other sponsored activities under grants and contracts funded by the sponsor or by sources other than State appropriations. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(8)) The laboratory operates two Illumina NGS sequencing instruments (MiniSeq and MiSeq) and
these reagents are exclusive to Illumina. The Illumina line of NGS instrumentation is a golden standard for advanced sequencing applications. We stride to deliver the the most up to date technologies to the University.
