Announcement of an Exempt Purchase

Provide an Advanced Practice Nurse for Pediatric Hematology and Oncology. The Advanced Practice Nurse will evaluate and treat patients at the St. Jude Clinic, serve as liaison between the families and physicians be available to answer questions via phone in between office visits provide educational training to patients and their families regarding their medical needs to relay lab and/or procedure results under the direction and supervision of the physicians.

This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for medical supplies or medical services necessary for the delivery of care and treatment at medical, dental, or veterinary teaching facilities utilized by SIU or U of I (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b-5)) The College of Medicine Peoria Pediatric Hematology and Oncology clinical program is located within the St. Jude Clinic at the Children's Hospital of Illinois, on the OSF St. Francis Medical Center campus. The affiliation agreement between OSF St. Francis, College of Medicine Peoria and St. Jude stipulates that OSF must provide the staff and St. Jude must approve the support staff.
