The University awarded a contract for Advanced Practice Nurses.
OSF Healthcare will provide two experienced Advanced Practice Nurses 1.0 Full-time Equivalent (FTE) and .75 FTE to support the Pediatric Cardiology Team, plus add One 1.0 FTE APN added for a brief period within term.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for medical supplies or medical services necessary for the delivery of care and treatment at medical, dental, or veterinary teaching facilities utilized by SIU or U of I (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b-5)) OSF Healthcare will provide two experienced Advanced Practice Nurses (1.0 FTE and .75 FTE) to support the Pediatric Cardiology Team. There will be an addition of an APN (1.0 FTE) for a brief period. We would not be able to hire people of this caliber for the wages the University pays. Also, OSF Healthcare is our partner and provides other staff to our clinics as needed. The clinics are located on OSF property.
