The University awarded a contract for Thinkmate Graphics Processing Unit server.
Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) capable of the analysis of a variety of graphic data including the facilitation of efficient processing of data such as cryogenic electron microscopy analysis to characterize antibody-antigen interaction. Funding is provided by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute and Emerging Pathogens Initiative awards.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for performing sponsored research and other sponsored activities under grants and contracts funded by the sponsor or by sources other than State appropriations.
