Project Description
The existing fire alarm at the Architecture and Design Studio (ADS) building is non-compliant. In addition, this fire alarm system is no longer supported by the industry and presents a challenge in finding replacement parts. The project includes replacing the fire alarm system as well as removal of the old system. The existing building fire alarm system to remain in place and operational until the new system is fully installed, commissioned and accepted by the University. All existing architectural finishes impacted by the removal of the existing fire alarm equipment, devices, conduit, wiring, boxes, etc., shall be restored/repaired to match surrounding conditions. Furthermore, furnish and install fire alarm initiation and notification devices and equipment. Numerous areas in the building will require working above standard 8-0. New UIC Fire Alarm Standards will be in place and need to be executed for this project.

A MANDATORY pre-bid conference for all parties interested in bidding the project will be held in ADS building, 845 West Harrison Street, Chicago. Room 1300, floor 1 at 9:00 am on 1/7/2026.
Representatives of the Owner and the Professional Services Consultant will be present to answer questions regarding the project and bidding procedures. All prospective bidders are REQUIRED to attend.
