The University awarded a contract for communications support.
Communications support for the Illinois Multisector Plan for Aging, including the development and implementation of the FY27 communications and dissemination strategy. Services include project management, communications strategy development, creation of communication materials, newsletters, social media content and sharing toolkits, media outreach, website updates, workgroup support, and execution of public information campaign.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for performing sponsored research and other sponsored activities under grants and contracts funded by the sponsor or by sources other than State appropriations. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(8)) Without, this exemption the university would have to delay or cancel communications supporting the statewide strategic planning efforts, reducing the impact of the research and planning investment.
