The University awarded a contract for Cloud hosted server maintenance..
The cloud-hosted solution is more beneficial as it offers some functionality that Anesthesia has been requesting. Omnicell cloud migration allows for password integration results in fewer servers to support internally allows patching, anti-virus, and upgrades to be managed/performed by Omnicell results in faster/more timely upgrades of Omnicell software and is less costly in the long run than physical or virtual servers.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for procurement expenditures for any ongoing software license or maintenance agreement or competitively solicited software purchase, when the software, license, or maintenance agreement is available through only the software creator or its manufacturer and not a reseller ( 30 ILCS 500/1-13 (b)(10)) The maintenance is only available through Omnicell.
