The University awarded a contract for claims payment reconciliation services.
Inmar will be reconciling the claims payments for all six retail pharmacies run by the College of Pharmacy. Healthcare pharmacy revenue cycle management outsource services of over $100M annually Claims reconciliation of 30,000 patient prescriptions per month. They handle over $14M in Accounts Receivable for us at any given time and very critical to our business operations.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for medical supplies or medical services necessary for the delivery of care and treatment at medical, dental, or veterinary teaching facilities utilized by SIU or U of I (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b-5)) The University operates 6 retail pharmacies out of our UI Health operation to support our patients and students who need prescriptions. This vendor is our outsourced revenue cycle and claims reconciliation party that coordinates and reconciles prescription claim detail to payment detail and reviews results with the finance team monthly. This is paid for by self supporting funds generated from the pharmacy operation. Each month, the vendor helps match over 30,000 prescription details to payments in the amount of $12M. This service is necessary for the support of our 340B program.
